Jane Leadbetter promotes the place of children in the church. She encourages, advises, supports, resources and trains anyone who comes into contact with children, in parishes, up to the age of 11 years. This could be Sunday School Leaders, crèche leaders, mums & tots groups, junior clubs, mid-week groups, and many more. Jane has links with uniformed organisations and still runs a Beaver Scout Colony in South Liverpool.

Jane promotes the importance of how we welcome children into our churches and include them in services and church life. She gives talks, encourages discussion and trains leaders, P.C.C.’s and congregations in this important ministry.

Leaflets are available.

The Children’s Work Adviser works with other Boards in the Diocese and is in regular contact with other north-west Diocese.

Children’s Ministry Team

The Children’s Work Adviser and the Children’s Ministry Team want children to develop good feelings about the church and Christianity. It is important that these children feel that they play an active part in the whole church fellowship as:

  • Jesus took children seriously.
  • The love of Christian adults should be the first experience that our children are aware of in church.
  • The task of bringing up children to know Christ is not just the job of their leaders - it is the responsibility of the whole congregation.
  • God’s relationship with children in the Old and New Testaments is one of fundamental acceptance,
  • Children are TODAY’S church.

Please contact Jane Leadbetter if you wish to find out more about the Children’s Ministry Team.
