3 Kings come to Liverpool

Liverpool Cathedral started their Centenary Celebrations with a special visit of Three Kings from Cologne. A service took place on January 5th, when children who had taken part in Nativity Plays in schools & parishes around the diocese were invited to greet the 3 Kings. After the service, the children, dressed in their Nativity costumes, processed to the West End of the cathedral, where Bishop James blessed pieces of chalk. The 3 Kings used the chalk to fill in a new inscription on the stone wall by the West Door: 20 + C + M + B + 04
(Christ bless this house)

and then everyone was invited to receive chalk to take back to their schools and parishes. Thank you to everyone who came and helped to make this special event so memorable.
